Abstract
Sustainable development is strengthened by the circular economy (CE). According to estimates, circular economy adoption might give India $500 billion in economic value by 2030. Solid waste management (SWM) can be achieved by adopting the circular economy approach. This study evaluates existing waste management strategies and identifies the insufficiency of circular economy as a result of success. The study covers Indian solid waste management and emphasizes the circular economy’s role. The review highlights current and future waste management methods to create a circular economy and boost the SD movement. Topics covered include the cradle-to-cradle approach to circular economy, national solid waste regulations, government enterprises and industry and legal impact. This effort will help policymakers and decision-makers integrate circular economy into the Indian solid waste management sector.
