Assessment of Chemicals Hazard and Resilience in an Educational Setup: A case study of Jamia Millia Islamia University, India

This paper analyses disaster resilience with respect to chemical hazards in an educational setting at Jamia Millia Islamia University, located in a densely populated area. It aims to lower chemical exposure and improve chemical management. A hazard assessment was done with hazardous units identified and mapped within the campus and its environs, followed by risk and vulnerability assessment and then disaster resilience and safety. Responsible chemical management will likely boost classroom learning, the environment and the community’s overall health. This research would aid administration, students, teachers and other staffs in better planning and responding to mishap and building a safer and more resilient infrastructure and community.
